CREW RULES

 

Dancers are only permitted to compete with one crew

 

• Teachers or professional dancers must compete in ADVANCED (please contact MD in regards to student teachers)

 

Crews are allocated the dance floor to

themselves.

 

 

Maximum of 26 dancers to each crew. Minimum of 5 dancers to each crew

 

MUSIC- Please supply your own crew music. This must be email 7 days prior to event day

Crews can only move back down a a division if they move up an age category 

 

 

COMPETING AGE DIVISIONS FOR CREWS:-  Under 6, u10, u14, u18 and Over 18s

COMPETING CATEGORIES FOR CREWS:- Beginners, Novice, Intermedaites & Advanced

 

Beginners

Open to all dancers.

Open to any crews who have never competed at Maximum Dance before

No more than 50% of the crew can be above Beg/ Nov division

 

Crews are pemitted to stay in this division until they win 1st place with more than 5 teams against them then they will automatically move up to novice/intermediate OR until the win twice (2nd to 5th place) with more than 5 teams against them

 

Time allocation:-  2mins (5 sec buffer. Every additional 5 secs will result in losing 0.5 point per judge)

 

75% of the competing team must be within in the age category. 25% of the team would be allowed to be older. However they can only be older up to the next age division.

 

 

Novice

Open to all dancers.

Open to any crews who have never competed at Maximum Dance before that want to start at Novice level.

Crews are pemitted to stay in this division until they win 1st place with more than 5 teams against them then they will automatically move up to intermediate OR until the win twice (2nd to 5th place) with more than 5 teams against them

Time allocation:- 2:30mins (5 sec buffer. Every additional 5 secs will result in losing 0.5 point per judge)

Advanced

Open to all dancers.

Open to any crews who have never competed at Maximum Dance before that want to start at Advanced level.

 

Crews are pemitted to stay in this division until they win 1st place with more than 5 teams against them then they will automatically move up to intermediate OR until the win twice (2nd to 5th place) with more than 5 teams against them

 

This is the highest level Maximum Dance offer.

 

Time allocation:- Advanced have 2:30mins (5 sec buffer. Every additional 5 secs will result in losing 0.5 point per judge)

 

75% of the competing team must be within in the age category. 25% of the team would be allowed to be older. However they can only be older up to the next age division.

 

JUDGES CREW SCORING

 

Criteria that judges will score in-

 

Spacing/ formations

Timing/ musicality

Foundations

Choreography/ Creativity

 

 

1-2= below average   3-4= average   5-6   good  7-8= very good   9-10= excellent  

 

Please note that Maximum Dance judge with their own criteria

-Crews are permitted to drop down divisions if more than 75% of the team changes. Or if the team move up a age division

-Crews are permitted to drop down divisions if the crew havent been placed/ competing against more than 5 teams within the last 2 years

-Maximum Dance have the right to combine any divisions with less than 5

 

- Full time teachers or proffesionals must dance advanced in crew. Student teachers can dance intermediate level or above.

Dance studio owners are best to contact maximum dance to confirm which level teachers/ student teachers are to dance
